Goldex & The Costa Coffee Foundation!
It is incredibly rewarding to see our #GoldexTeam getting involved with this months #FoundationFriday
Our business would not be possible without the coffee farmers around the world! In some of the world's poorest countries, many of the coffee growing communities are located in remote rural areas, and children in these communities have little or no access to education.
This month was festival themed! Fundraising for the Costa Foundation is something that all Costa Coffee team members and customers love to get involved in. On the last Friday of each month there is a special atmosphere in Costa Coffee stores – that is Foundation Friday!
Costa Coffee teams across the UK put on their best fancy dress to raise awareness of the Costa Foundation and play games to raise money. Last year our team members and customers raised over £300,000 through Foundation Fridays. This is an even more extraordinary figure given the difficulties we all faced in 2020. Thank you to all our customers and team members for this amazing effort!
Costa Foundation's mission is to fund schools and projects in coffee-growing communities that provide safe, quality education.
The charity does this by:
Building new schools or extending existing ones
Investing in water supplies and providing electricity
Furnishing the new buildings
Providing computers and other essential technology
Building toilets and teacher accommodation
Promoting gender equality
Developing land for students to grow crops.
