YORKSHIRE 3 PEAKS
4TH MAY 2025

On Sunday 4th May, a determined team of 14 from the Goldex Foundation set off bright and early to take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge—all in support of our chosen charities for the year, SATEDA and Demelza.
At 6:10am, we began our adventure from the Yorkshire Dales National Park car park, heading straight for our first peak: Pen-y-Ghent. The climb was steep in places, with some scrambling required, but spirits were high—and by 8:10am, all 14 of us were proudly standing at the summit.

From there, we descended and began the 8-mile trek toward Whernside. Before tackling the next climb, we paused to refuel near a welcoming burger van and pub—a much-needed break! At 1:00pm, 12 of us began the 4.5-mile ascent up Whernside. The summit was reached by 3:00pm, but the descent proved to be one of the toughest parts of the day—steep, rocky, and hard to navigate.

Our group split at this stage, with six of us pushing on towards the final peak: Ingleborough. The climb began at 4:30pm, and after a challenging ascent, the summit was reached by 5:40pm. It was a phenomenal effort, especially considering the tough terrain and long day behind us. The wind at the top of Ingleborough was fierce, but we stood tall, proud of what we had accomplished.

The weather was mostly on our side, staying cool at around 8°C with just a light spit of rain on Whernside—but otherwise kind for an all-day challenge.

This incredible journey pushed us all to our limits, but the reward was worth every step. We’re thrilled to share that we’ve raised thousands of pounds for SATEDA and Demelza—two charities doing vital work in our communities.

To everyone who donated, supported, or joined us on this adventure: thank you. Together, we’re making a real difference.
